72 Hour

This kit is designed as if one is unable to remain in their residence for several days. It is my recommendation for a standalone kit.  For me personally, I many of the items are in my EDC which will go into the 72 hr pack.

I think this is the most critical kit.  Adding the GTH kit, it contains all of my most critical gear and supplies.

Surgical Kit - not likely to carry in my 72 hour, but in my 3 week instead
If have added this after considering what I would do if someone had a deep laceration and we were unable to get medical help for days or weeks.

1 bottle of Johnson’s shampoo
2 small bottles sterile contact lens saline solution
  - I open then, suck in a drop of shampoo, then tape closed - instant wound wash.
2 open eye spring needles - for long term suturing options
1 quantity of fishing line - fishing and sutures
2 scalpels - #10, and #15 - a smaller one for more delicate work, and a larger one for more aggressive cutting.
1 Israeli bandage - get these at a gun show
1 5x9 trauma pad
2 rolls 3 inch gauze wraps
2 boxes 4x4 gauze pads - these come in a sterile box. Clean your hands and put them in a plastic sandwich bag.
1 2" Coban roll - easy to wrap around a gauze pad for a quick emergency where you may need to be mobile.
1 2" plastic tape roll
3 packet Steri-strips - these can be used in place of stitches for small wounds.
1 bottle Benzoine - for adhering steri strips - I think I will go for the single application containers.  Save space and ease of use.
